Dr. Ian Morris is a Full Professor at Dalhousie University in the Department of Anaesthesia. He is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada) Specialist in Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine. He has published chapters in Management of the Difficult and Failed Airway.
When it comes to airway management, he finds it is important to pay special attention to the patient. “Always be empathetic to the patient, and never be arrogant or cavalier in patient care,” he says. He also finds its crucial to plan several steps ahead when working with a difficult airway.
In his spare time, Dr. Morris likes to sail, kayak, ski, hike, and partake in other outdoor activities.
