Richard Zane, MD Named Professor and Chair at University of Colorado School of Medicine

Richard D. Zane, MD, a member of the national faculty of The Difficult Airway Course: Emergency and currently Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, has been named the first Professor and Chair of the newly formed Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  He will assume his new responsibilities on April 1, 2012.  In his new position, Dr. Zane will be based at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and University of Colorado Hospital and will have oversight of all emergency medicine academic programs. 

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Rich to exercise his visionary leadership and his outstanding management and mentoring skills to develop his department into a major academic powerhouse in our specialty," said Ron Walls, MD.  "We have been very fortunate to have benefited from Rich's talent and dedication as a senior leader in our department at Brigham and Women's Hospital, traits that were abundantly clear immediately on his arrival as a young faculty member in 1998."
 
Dr. Zane will continue to serve 
on the faculty of The Difficult Airway Course: Emergency.
