Manual of Emergency Airway Management (3rd ed) Reviewed in Anesthesia & Analgesia

The Manual of Emergency Airway Management (3rd ed) was recently reviewed in the journal, Anesthesia & Analgesia (Vol. 108, No.6, June 2009).  The reviewer, Richard Aghababian, MD, found the manual to be useful as a pre-airway course study guide (its original purpose) as well as a "quick reference guide" and a "reference source for physicians" whether or not they have taken The Difficult Airway Course.

Dr. Aghababian found many useful items in the manual including clinical pearls offered by experts, understandable algorithms, color photos and detailed diagrams, a thorough pharmacology discussion, recent research reviews, and chapters devoted to unique patient populations.  He concludes his review by saying, "this manual serves as an excellent guide for the clinical management of an extremely difficult group of emergency situations.  Anyone who reads this manual will certainly have a better appreciation of the "perils and pitfalls" associated with emergency airway management."
