The Difficult Airway Course Faculty will Present at Upcoming AMTC and SAM Conferences

We are pleased to announce that senior faculty from The Difficult Airway Course: EMS™, The Difficult Airway Course: Emergency™ and The Difficult Airway Course: Anesthesia™ will be leading sessions at two important conferences this Fall.

Society for Airway Management (SAM) Scientific Meeting & Workshop
Faculty from many of our national course offering will present at the SAM Annual Scientific Meeting, being held September 14 - 17 in Newport Beach, California.

Lorraine Foley MD, SAM President and faculty for The Difficult Airway Course: Anesthesia™ will moderate several sessions and lead the "con" side of the "Alternate Technique vs. Intubation for Outside Locations" debate. John Sakles, MD, faculty for The Difficult Airway Course: Emergency™ will present "Improving the Safety of Intubation in the Emergency Department" during the Emergency Airway Session and "Case 4: Emergency Medicine" during the Case Discussions segment of the meeting.

Representing The Difficult Airway Course: EMS™, Mike Steuerwald MD (Associate Medical Director for the Difficult Airway Course: EMS, Director of Emergency Airway Management and Assistant Medical Director of UW Med Flight) will present "Prehospital Management of the Patient with Airway Trauma" on Day 1. Dr. Steuerwald will also participate in two Expert Round Table Sessions; "Airway Management in Remote Locations," and "Prehospital Airway Challenges," which will also feature Dave Olvera, FP-C, NREMT, Clinical Education Manager at Air Methods.

Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) 2017
For the second year in a row, faculty for The Difficult Airway Course: EMS™ will present "The Difficult Airway in Pre-Hospital Critical Care" as a pre-conference workshop at the Air Medical Transport Conference being held October 16-18 in Forth Worth, Texas.

Hosted by ASTNA, this optional workshop will be presented by Cory Cox (West Regional Course Director), Dave Olvera, Ken Davis (Southwest Regional Course Director) and Jeff Birrer.  This intensive, full-day program designed for advanced providers starts with an updated on the latest research and best practices then moves into advanced skills labs, culminating in challenging Code Airway simulations.  Attendees will practice advanced video laryngoscopy, surgical airways and fiberoptic intubation, then work though simulations in small groups.
